This is, I will admit, not my first blog. It is however my first blog all about family – in particular my family! Over the last few years – perhaps nearly a decade at this point – I have been keen to learn and record the history of -and time with- family. To discover family recipes, learn family stories, and to get into the kitchen with those that I love.

Over the last 4 years in particular I have loved sharing my kitchen with my two boys. Cooking with them and watching as they discover the joys of family, food, and fun has encouraged me to move forward with this crazy idea to record these memories…these fleeting moments before they pass me by…in order to preserve them for future generations.

After searching endlessly for just the right blog title – The heritage kitchen, the family kitchen, the joy of cooking with family, etc, etc (they were all taken and not quiet right) – I finally settled on the one thing I knew to be true. This was for, and ultimately about my boys. It is our journey together as we discover foods and recipes we love, as we learn family recipes with beloved grandparents, as we laugh and discover new flavors with Auntes, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.
