Good Morning Super Smoothie

Smoothies are a wonderful way to start the day – as well as a wonderful way to sneak extra greens and nutrients into your (or a kiddos) diet!

In our house we are huge fans of kale smoothies. I love the vibrant and slightly peppery flavor profile kale adds to our smoothies – not to mention all the wonderful vitamins and minerals!

Today’s morning super smoothie is packed with vitamin C, antioxidants, potassium, manganese, fiber, calcium, iron, antiemetic gingevum, and probiotics.

Good Morning Super Smoothie

  • 1/2 cup orange juice (no sugar added)
  • 1tbl chia seeds (or 2tbl chia pudding)
  • 4 strawberries frozen
  • 1 banana frozen (slices are best)
  • 1/5 – 1 tbl ginger slices
  • 1 large bunch kale
  • 2tbl Greek yogurt (plain no sugar added)
  • 1/4 cup ice and water

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. This is a 280cal smoothie.

Other wonderful additions/alternatives to this smoothie are swapping the orange juice for apple juice and adding 1 Apple (diced). (Remove yogurt for lactose intolerant or vegan if desired as well). The apple version without the ginger is perhaps Lion’s favorite! Bear on the other hand loves the zing of the ginger!
