At the beginning of the year I picked up a new cookbook ‘Instant Loss’ by Brittany Williams. We’ve been working our way through the recipes and meal plans – many of which are a big hit with my two Wee Laird’s! In particular this delicious cinnamon apple oatmeal made with steal cut oats is one of the recipes they not only love to eat – but love to help make!
Since buying and reading ‘Instant Loss’ I have found Brittany also has a blog – https://instantloss.com/eat-real-lose-weight/ – where she posts regularly- both new recipes, and inspirational posts about her journey. (I do not personally know Brittany, and I haven’t been solicited to write anything about her book or blog! I just happened to like them both. Passing on a little author/blogger love!) If you like this recipe check out her blog and book!
We have been enjoying recipes from Instant Loss for a few months now and I can say the only real issue I have with it are some of the listed portions. In my house I’ve got two boys who happen to be pretty good eaters most days. Which means sometimes they eat 1.5-2 times the portion sizes listed. As a result I have learned to inflate some of the recipes to accommodate this. However, if your kids eat smaller portions regularly you may be just fine with the listed quantities.
We had a bunch of fun making this yummy oatmeal this morning here in the Wee Laird’s Kitchen! We hope you’ll give this recipe and other recipes from Brittany Williams Instant Loss book/blog a try. And if you’ve got any new recipes, books, or blogs you’re loving right now – let us know! We’d love to hear from you.
Wishing you all love and happy cooking from all of us here in the Wee Laird’s Kitchen!
